Quail Springs Youth Group
The youth group at Quail Springs United Methodist Church is a collective of students committed to radical inclusivity. Our members are committed to welcoming all persons regardless of race, social status, gender identity, or sexual orientation into a loving and supportive community. We believe in the sacred worth of all people and in equal rights as prescribed by Jesus in his instructions to “Love your neighbor as yourself.” The members of Summit Springs demonstrate our love and acceptance through community action and advocacy as well as study and discernment.
No matter who you are or where you come from, if you are in 6th-12th grade, you are welcome at Quail Springs Youth. Our desire is to create a welcoming environment, in the midst of the busy lives of our students, where youth can encounter God’s love and grow as disciples of Jesus Christ. We hope you will join us as we share God’s love, love one another, and have some fun!
Our youth are led by youth minister Brad Boxberger and a number of Safe Sanctuary trained volunteers. For more information, contact us at 405-755-9477.
Weekly Schedule
Sunday Evenings
All ages gather from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm for Youth Fellowship. During this time, our main purpose is to strengthen the bond between the youth who attend through food and fellowship. Examples of Sunday evening activities include community service, attending MetroWorship (quarterly worship service geared specifically for youth open to all youth groups in the OKC Metro), or playing giant icebreaker games, which is our chance to run around and be silly. Through these various Sunday evening activities, we hope our youth build strong bonds that evolve into lifelong friendships.
On most Sunday evenings, Youth Fellowship meets in the Christian Life Center, but be sure to subscribe to our text alerts to be up-to-date on all the latest youth happenings.
Wednesday Evenings
All ages meet for Wednesday Evening "Bible Study" from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
On Wednesday evenings, we focus on scripture analysis and how the Bible can relate in the complex life of today's teenager. We work through both the inspirational bits and the "tough-to-get-through" parts and we take a critical look at what it means to be a Christian, what it means to be a Methodist, and how we live this out in our daily interactions.
Bible Study meets in the CLC every Wednesday.
Volunteer
We have many opportunities for adults to volunteer with Quail Springs Youth. Whether you currently have a child in the group or not, we would love to have you join us!
